Vanessa Montalbano

I am a graduate student journalist at American University in Washington, D.C., with experience investigating social issues and public affairs.

In the past I interned in the Documentary and Special Projects Unit at Voice of America, earning a production credit on a recent film about press freedom in Turkey. I also played an active role as a Senior Editor for The World vertical at The Tempest, where I launched a column focused on media issues globally and served as head editor for all coverage related to the 2020 presidential election.

I am currently working alongside Pulitzer Prize finalists and investigative reporters on long-term projects at The Washington Post through a graduate class at American University. I am also a contributing writer for The Wash.
